RETURN TO AUSTRALIAN SPORT - from Bilambil Primary School

The little bear is Willy - Australia's mascot for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. This particular Willy lives with the author's family and takes over the TV whenever there is sport on. WILLY'S STORY I was teaching at Umina Primary School (north of Sydney) during the 1984 Olympics The father of twins in my class was chosen to wear the Willy suit in Los Angeles A consuming passion with Willy and the LA Games swept the class Willy has since moved house with us 5 times and still takes up pride of place near the TV in our bedroom He has made special appearances for every Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games since 1984, either on my desk at school or beside the TV at home He is currently preparing for the BIG one - Sydney 2000 and spends a lot of time whinging about all the attention being given to the current mascots, he reckons they're too cheeky looking (sour grapes??)

	PHOTOSHOP FUN Photo of Willy was taken with Sanyo Digital Camera VPC - G200 Photo was downloaded then imported into Photoshop 4.0 Photo of my son at Indy was opened and Image Size resolution reduced to match import Cloning Tool was used to transfer sections of Indy photo to TV screen TV and Willy were then cut out using a combination of the Polygon Lassoo Tool, Magic Wand and Rubber (on paint setting) Remaining image was touched up using Sponge and Sharpen Tools with selected sections being repainted Filters were applied including Unsharp Mask and Gaussian Blur Levels, Hue and Contrast were adjusted Image was then saved and opened in Macromedia FireWorks to make final adjustment for large and small pics on these pages Page layout completed using GoLive CyberStudio
